Super Learning Days

Super Learning Days are where groups are taken off timetable and a variety of learning to learn activities are experienced. It is a day where young people begin to think about how they learned rather than what they learned

Take a look at the information leaflet below.

SLD's provide a space for staff development as well as for young people to try out new ideas and actively learn about themselves as learners in a fun way. We also have examples of 'themed' SLD's on Maths or Creativity, for example. Young people take part in a day that is different from their everyday experience of school and it highlights skills that will have a significant impact on their learning. SLD's can also provide an active way for parents or the community to be involved in learning with take home activities to do as well.

Case Study

Norwich Road Primary school have a UFA SLD take place every term. The day starts with a whole school introduction and then children are divided into 4 workshop groups. The children rotate through a series of different activities experiencing different ways of learning. The workshops also match a variety of learning intentions including English, Maths and science. The children use a 'ladder of success' to evaluate their learning along the way.
