The founder of the University of the First Age, Tim Brighouse has been knighted for his services to education in the 2009 Honours List
In a piece in the Guardian Newspaper on the 2nd January Sir Tim refers to the UFA as one of the organisations responsible for guarding the take up of his Lifewide Learning Guarantee.
