Creative young leaders in Dudley

15 creative young leaders from across Dudley are currently planning four new UFA Lead Learner clubs to be launched in 2012.

Creative young leaders in Dudley

Funded through the Arts Council’s ‘Grants for the Arts’ programme these clubs will be known as ‘Leading Lights’ clubs and there aim is to enable young people to achieve the national qualification the Arts Award. The clubs, as always, will be planned, managed and facilitated by young people for young people. During the 3 day training in October, the young leaders from Buzz Youth Theatre and Coseley Youth Centre began to develop their leadership skills and to decide what opportunities they would provide their club participants to experience all four units of the Bronze Arts award. They will need to take part in arts activity, visit a live arts event, share their creative talents with someone else and research an arts hero.
With support from Dudley performing arts, Dudley arts development and Dudley Youth service the young leaders look set to become inspirational role models for Dudley and amazing ambassadors for the arts.
In 2012, the same opportunity will be offered to 15 young people from across Birmingham. Watch this space!
